The Office of the Governor has assigned budget and policy advisor Gabriel De Ochoa the responsibility for housing policy. Gabriel De Ochoa has worked as a budget and policy advisor to the Governor since September 2022. He replaces Catarina Gonzales, who has held this role since 2018. In early February, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Catarina Gonzales to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a term set to expire August 31, 2029.
